About Tinkerbell Learning School :
The school provides a local curriculum of education for Preschool and Primary level children aged between 3-12. Whilst the curriculum is based on Malay as the first language, and Islam as the religion of instruction, the school opens its doors to all nationals, races and religious dispositions.
Multicultural appreciation, and tolerance of religious diversity is encouraged in the school. With the exception of Bahasa Malayu and Ugama, the language of instruction is English.
As we regard our teachers as our most valued resource we endeavour to recruit teachers of the highest calibre who understand that they will be instructing children who for the most part are learning English as a second language and therefore have a responsibility to use correct language and pronunciation.
As of 2011, the school enrollment level is approximately 290. The enrollment level fluctuates throughout the year when some families are posted abroad with the armed forces, diplomatic services, or for professional development. There is no fixed admission level.
Class sizes are generally 15-20 with a maximum classroom size that we choose to set at 25 pupils. Every class has a full time teacher. In the preschool, each teacher has a teacher’s assistant to assist in the supervision of the classroom, toileting, and attend to special needs children. Special needs children currently comprise 9% of enrollments. Please refer to the ‘Special Needs Children’ page for further details.
A small hard-surface outdoor play area provides adequate space for P.E. activities, while major sporting activities are taken to a rented sports field. When the school is relocated, it will include space for a small sports field and multipurpose hall to service these activities on campus.
