Overview of the position

We are seeking an experienced Academic Director to head up our Group’s newest language centre. Operated by PM Learning Centre, our local partner in Thailand and a subsidiary of the PM Group, the centre will open in purpose-designed premises in central Bangkok around mid-2015.

You will be highly skilled, sensitive to local needs, with a natural and proven commitment to working to high standards.

The position will commence with a 4-week induction, training and preparation period at The London School of English headquarters in London (http://www.londonschool.com), prior to the successful candidate taking up their duties in Bangkok in the lead up to the launch.

The London School of English will offer a range of courses in Business and Specialist English, as well as General, Examination and University English.

Qualification requirements

• Native speaker of English

• University degree

• CELTA (or equivalent)

• DELTA (or equivalent)

 

Key experience and skills required

• Minimum 7 years’ experience within the ELT sector

• Experience of management roles

• Wide-ranging experience of Business, General, Academic and Examination English programme delivery

• Experience of ESP programme delivery

• Excellent all-round communication and team-leadership skills

• Experience of working in Thailand (preferred) or elsewhere in Asia (desirable)

Main duties

• Recruitment of teaching team

• Involvement in the launch preparations and fine-tuning of an initial course range

• Ongoing curriculum design and materials development

• Ongoing support and development of teaching team

• Overall day-to-day management of all the centre’s academic operations

Remuneration

• 12-month contract (renewable)

• Monthly salary 80,000 THB

• 10 days’ annual leave entitlement

• Return flight to country of hire

• Medical insurance cover
