The College of Arts and Sciences at Webster University Thailand (Bangkok Center, Sathorn) invites applications for a full-time, one year contract position at the assistant professor level in History, Politics and International Relations. 

Summary Description:

Teaching is at undergraduate level and will likely include some tuition on our general education program. The successful candidate should take up the position at the beginning of the fall term of 2015 (August, 2015). Renewal of contract is subject to performance. A PhD is required and candidate faculty should be research active, in line with the accreditation requirements of the Thai Ministry of Education.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach core and introductory IR courses at the undergraduate level. Specialization is open but we have requirements in political/IR theory, IPE and Methods. Electives and core courses in the candidate’s specialization field are also required (please visit our course descriptions for POLT, HIST and INTL courses on the Webster undergraduate catalog). The candidate should also be open to teaching some graduate courses if specialization is in line with course presentation demands. Candidates must be committed to teaching in a diverse environment and adjusting to life in Southeast Asia. The candidate will be based full time at our Bangkok Center in Sathorn, Bangkok. Webster Thailand has students from over sixty nations and a diverse faculty body from around the world. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply but final selection will be based on the candidate’s qualifications and their commensurability with the needs of Webster University Thailand and the IR program.

The teaching load is eight courses per year, with the possibility of course release for the purposes of research.
