Geotechnical and Earth Resources Engineering (GTE) field of study of School of Engineering and Technology (SET) at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) invites applications for a faculty position at the assistant professor or associate professor level in Geotechnical Engineering with special emphases on soil engineering and computational methods in geotechnical engineering.Exceptionally strong candidates in other areas of geotechnical engineering may also be considered. The applicants must demonstrate capability in both teaching and research in the graduate level. In describe teaching experiences, candidates should identify courses they can teach in their areas of speciality. Applicants must have completed a doctoral degree with a strong journal publication record by the time of submission of the application to AIT. The position will remain open until a qualified candidate has been identified. The successful candidate may start the contract in January 2016 semester.
Job Description:
The position is for a full-time faculty member with the following responsibilities:
- Teaching in GTE graduate courses and short-term training programs
- Supervising graduate student research
- Attracting research grants from public and private sectors
- Developing new curricula
- Performing outreach activities
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Geotechnical Engineering
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research
- Strong journal publication record demonstrating ability to perform independent research
