Purpose of the role

The IT Support Officer is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and supporting the computers systems for all users in the school. The IT Support Officer is responsible for installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solving technical and applications problems, either over the phone, email or in person. Excellent communication skills in Thai and English are required.

Responsibilities

1. IT support
   • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
   • Supporting users in school through a ticket system, face to face, by email or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
   • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and giving support in solving system and network problem
   • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
   • Testing and evaluating new technology
   • Conducting safety checks on computer equipment
   • Supporting staff in setting up AV equipment
   • Need to be on-call over night or on holiday.
2. Hardware and software support
   • Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications
   • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
   • Replacing parts of hardware as required
   • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up hardware or software
   • Supporting the rollout of new applications or software
   • Provisioning resources
   • Managing system backup operations, virus protection and system upgrades
   • Require a technician skill to work on installing equipment or stuff.
3. Other
   • To provide general administrative support and undertake other duties as required by the Network Manager and IT Director

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in the related field
• Technically competent in IT infrastructure, TCP/IP network protocol and operating system
• Knowledge of basic networking
• Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time
• Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with team, users and other departments
• Willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of computer hardware MAC or WINDOWS
• Technical qualifications – Familiarity with MAC OS X and iOS and WINDOWS
• Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic and fast work and school environment.
• An added advantage with certification in CCNA, MCDST or MCSA
