Berda Claude International School (BCIS) in Phuket are hiring teachers to join our Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary teams for the 2018-19 academic year. Teaching Positions

Academic Coordinator:

• Degree in education / administration management or Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or higher
• Minimum 2 years successful experience in a senior education role and proven track record in education
• Minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience
• Experience with Cambridge program, British program or knowledge of iGCSE curriculum and A-Level curriculum, BTEC program
• Native English Speaker

Kindergarten teacher

• Bachelor’s degree in education or early years with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
• Enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children from 2-6 years old
• Knowledge of EYFS program is an advantage
• Knowledge of Jolly Phonics program is an advantage
• Native English Speaker

Homeroom Teachers – year 1 and 2

• Bachelor’s degree in education or Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or higher
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience with young kids in Key Stage 1/2 (Y1 to Y6)
• Enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with children from 5-11 years old
• Excellent knowledge of subject
• Native English Speaker

English Language Teacher – Key Stage 3

• Bachelor’s degree in education or Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or higher
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Excellent knowledge of English language and English literature
• Experience with Cambridge program, British program, or knowledge of iGCSE curriculum
• Native English Speakers

Music and dance teacher – primary and secondary

• Bachelor’s degree in education or Post-Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or higher
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Excellent knowledge of performance arts and dance choreography
• Native English Speakers

ICT and Art Teacher

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or design field
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
• Can provide evidence of art work and students work
• Native English Speakers

Benefits and Salary:

1. Homeroom or Subject teachers starting salary 45,000 – 60,000 baht depending on qualifications and experience.
2. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
3. Classrooms are air-conditioned and are equipped with projectors
4. Social security and accident insurance

Qualifications:

1. Teaching licence is required
2. Criminal background check from your country and from Thai Police report
3. Education certificate – English and Thai translations
4. Passed a drugs test
5. Good ICT skills: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Teacher Support Positions

Assistant Homeroom Teachers

Minimum of 2 years experience working with children under between the ages of 2 – 7 years old
College diploma in child care or related field
Reinforce lessons presented by teachers and support classroom management
Help supervise students in class, during breaks and on field trips
Excellent communication in English

Assistant Physical Education Teacher

• Experience in different types of sports
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with kids
• Excellent communication in English

Science Lab Technician

• Bachelor’s degree in science
• Experience working with Chemistry labs and chemical formulae
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience
• Excellent knowledge of subject
• Excellent communication in English

Special Education Needs Coordinator – SENCO

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children with special needs, learning and physical disabilities
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
• Experience liaising with parents of children with SEN
• Diagnosing and monitoring the progress of children with SEN

School Nurse

Experience as a nurse in previous school an advantage
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children
Excellent communication in English
Up-to-date Certificate in Emergency First Aid

Benefits and Salary:

1. Starting salary 20,000-25,000 baht depending on qualifications and experience.
2. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30
