Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
Teaching certification or license from a recognized institution, state or country
At least two years teaching experience
Responsibilities
Plan and prepare lessons and instructional strategies and activities that actively engage the students in meaningful learning experiences and further the achievement of the school’s expected learning outcomes.
Deliver instruction in accordance with the Contents and Standards of the school curriculum, demonstrating knowledge and understanding of subject content.
Develop effective assessment and grading strategies to assist the ongoing learning development of students.
Experience working with the Common Core Standards a plus.
Experience with Understanding By Design a plus.
Maintain an organized, safe and nurturing learning environment and demonstrate effective classroom management skills and strategies.
Ability to differentiate for the needs of all learners.
Communicate effectively with peers, students, parents, the community and other professionals in enhancing the instructional environment and student performance and engagement.
Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in regard to the latest developments in educational strategies, pedagogy and research.
Support and collaborate with colleagues in the delivery of the school’s instructional program.
Support all school improvement initiatives, and be willing to contribute as appropriate to the school’s ongoing process of self-evaluation and improvement.
