About: Nakhon International City School (NICS) was founded through a shared vision between political, educational, and business leaders within Nakhon Si Thammarat province. Before its inception, it was observed that not only did many students have to either leave the province or Thailand in order to be educated under an international curriculum, but that due to socioeconomic constraints an international education was but a pipe dream for many.
Thus, the aim was to create a non-profit English language-based institution within Southern Thailand for young learners that would provide every possible educational opportunity, including matriculation into top universities around the world. From this the inherent vision for NICS was born. The goal was to bring world-class international education directly into the heart of Southern Thailand and make it accessible and affordable by all regardless of finances of status.
For two years, this community-based committee of parents and leaders worked diligently to make this vision a reality. At NICS, students within the province and from around the nation and world can come together to think critically, analytically, and constructively about the world around them. They learn, grow and develop to be global citizens and community focused leaders.
An education from NICS provides students with the necessary skills and resources to be successful members of their communities and proud representatives of their homeland.
