The Asian School of Hospitality Arts (ASHA) is the home of future global hospitality leaders.

After meticulously identifying the challenges and opportunities of a globally competitive field, ASHA strategically directs the paths of its students toward a realistic career fulfillment by providing a world-class and globally attuned education that recognizes and empowers each student’s inherent capacity in serving both the local and global Hotel and Restaurant industry.

ASHA stays true to its concept of an industry-immersed education, offering programs that are specifically tailored to fit the industry’s requirements, hence, a practical approach to holistic learning. Student apprenticeship programs go beyond traditional exposure because we have elevated every learning experience to an opportunity for skill mastery, supported by respected partners who are as committed as the school is.

ASHA is part of The Cravings Group of Companies that gave us establishments such as Cravings Restaurant, TCB, The Orange Place Hotel, Seven Suites Hotel Observatory, and the Center for Culinary Arts, to name a few. Being pioneers and actual practitioners, ASHA is able to immediately expose the students to the actual setting of the industry and link them to many career opportunities within its group or partner establishments.

HISTORY

Founded in 2009, the Asian School of Hospitality Arts is the fruit of a mother-and-daughter tandem’s commitment to improve the lives of those who aspire to be in the hotel and restaurant industry by finding ways to advance their skills and increase their employability, training them to become the globally competitive hospitality leaders of the future.

The Cravings Group President Susana “Annie” P. Guerrero and The Cravings Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Marinela “Badjie” Guerrero – Trinidad is the perfect tandem that redefined the hotel and restaurant business and Hospitality Arts. Their dedication enables young Filipinos to strive for excellence while ensuring sustainable development.

ASHA is a leading hospitality arts school in the Philippines with a unique edifice that enables it to stand among the top higher education institutions albeit having been founded only a few years ago.

Initially, ASHA offered Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – accredited courses starting June 2009 with Angelina Blanco, a BS HRA and MBA graduate from the University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman in Quezon City, as School Director. With 15 years teaching and 20 years working experience in different hotels and restaurants, Blanco supervised the different programs that included the Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Operations (CHRO), the Certificate in Professional Cooking Series, and the Diploma in Hospitality Management (DHM).

By June of the following school year, ASHA opened its doors to the first batch of its very first college course under the Commission of Higher Education (CHED), the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management. In January 2, 2012, CHED gave full authority for ASHA to fully offer BS HRM from first to fourth year. Blanco, its first school supervisor, became its first dean.

ASHA’s unstoppable growth continues. Today, ASHA offers TESDA- accredited and CHED- recognized courses in its main campus in Antipolo City while providing TESDA-accredited courses in its Quezon City, San Juan City, and Tagaytay City campuses in its distinctive hotel-restaurant and school set-up.

The CHED-recognized courses offered include BS HRM, BS Tourism, and BS Entrepreneurship while the TESDA-accredited courses include Certificate in Hotel and Restaurant Operations (CHRO), Diploma in Hotel Management, Professional Cooking Series, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Services, Bartending, Barista, and Front Office.

Making it a unique hotel and restaurant learning institution, ASHA is among the few hospitality arts school in the world today that advocates green hoteliership anchored on a very dynamic Environmental Management System that continuously undertake green initiatives for the tourism, hotel, and restaurant industry.

ASHA has become a pillar of Hospitality Arts education that pivots toward environment-focused practices embraced by every student, faculty member, and administrator. Its history and the future ahead have been etched at the very heart of Mother Earth.
