The ICLC English Language Centre was established by an Irish lecturer, Mr Paul Ryan (MBA), in March 2007 at 184 Khanh Hoi Street, District 4, HCMC. As an enthusiastic and experienced teacher of English in Asian countries and in HCMC for over ten years, Mr Paul Ryan was very pressed to recognize that while Vietnamese people have great demand for studying English, high quality English programs delivered by native English speakers are beyond most learners’ affordability. Determined to exploit the market channel for those learners who are not “up class” but have the demand to study high quality English with native English speakers, Mr Paul Ryan and his spouse, who is also a teacher of English, established the Inter-Continental English Language Centre, abbreviated ICLC, with the slogan “High quality English study does not necessarily mean high school fee”.

How can ICLC ensure that “High quality English study does not necessarily mean high school fee”? That clue is that ICLC has made the best from its advantages, i.e. having Mr Paul Ryan and his friends and colleagues, who are also experienced English lecturers, work for ICLC. ICLC’s overhead costs are therefore minimized. The allocation of lessons with native speakers and Vietnamese lecturers is also optimized to ensure that students achieve their English proficiency in the most cost-effective manner.
