Welcome to the website of Saigon South International School. Whether you are a parent looking for the right fit for your school-aged child, a self-starting student looking at options in Ho Chi Minh City, a teacher looking for an active association of passionate educators where you can add your voice and your talents to a shared mission, or just an explorer on the web, we are happy to share with you a look into our community.
At SSIS we begin with those ideas that bind us together, our core values of the pursuit of Academic Excellence, a grounding in a Sense of Self, a commitment to Dedicated Service, the striving for a Balance in Life, and a heartfelt Respect for All. These unite us as a school and are at the center of everything we do. While we come from many different nations and cultures, while our beliefs and ideas may differ widely on the issues and challenges we face in the world today, we have each chosen to join our self to this school, our classmates, our teachers, and our colleagues.
We are committed to the intellectual and personal development of each student and believe that our values will help prepare them for a purpose-driven life as a member of an increasing globalized society. We believe that a rigorous and challenging academic program is an essential preparation for the colleges and universities around the world to which our students aspire and to an examined life in general. We are just as aware that international communities are often transient and we recognize the importance of a program which allows for a successful transition to elementary and secondary schools around the globe.
Saigon South is fortunate in the foresight and planning of its founders to possess a beautiful suburban campus with large, grassy fields and purpose-built buildings. As important as facilities are to a school, though, it is the quality of those who inhabit these space which is the greatest asset of any organization. Our faculty are carefully selected for their ability to inspire students with individualized attention and their proven commitment to the life outside the classroom in coaching and co-curricular activities in the arts, athletics, service and learning-centered clubs. We are just as proud of our students and their commitment to, and responsibility for, their own education and learning. They work hard, play hard, and grow in their understanding of the world of possibilities and adventures which lie ahead for them in the daily contact with their peers and teachers.
If you believe that SSIS might be a good fit for your child, please contact theAdmissions Office with your questions about our school, our academic program or our community. We welcome you all to visit the school, take a tour and see for yourself the quality of our programs, the caliber of our teachers and the caring, committed nature of our community.
