About this school : RS Asia Resources is a music and educational company that aspires to promote music education through seminars, workshops and educational events.
RS Asia Resources is headed by Rockie Siew, an appointed Consultant for Rockschool. Rockie is a reknown pianist, keyboardist and music educator. During his childhood, Rockie was known as ‘the boy with the golden fingers’ and made his mark by winning the Talentime’s Most Outstanding Performer ’84 – ’86 and Winner for the Instrumental division ’84 & ’86. He obtained his music degree with Middlesex University (UK) within the short span of one year. The highlight of his achievements was when he was awarded ‘Best Keyboardist’ in Yamaha’s Asia Beat Finals 2003.
Currently, Rockie is a part-time sessionist and also Sunway University’s Ensemble Consultant. Having roots in classical training and yet performing in the rock and pop genre, Rockie believes that Rockschool is the next wave in music education. One of his favourite quotes is “Mozart was the ‘rock & pop’ artist of his day.”
