THE POSITION – Head of international School for a Full-time position

The Head of International School has responsibility for creatively designing, leading and managing the implementation of the AISH mission as outlined below.

The Head of International School will have overall responsibility for:

  • Assisting the board in imagining the future of the international school headship
  • Designing and implementing strategies to ensure the school continues to be a significant voice in the international school conversation
  • Designing and managing membership campaigns and processes, including strategies for continued growth of the membership, both individual and supporting
  • Developing and maintaining strong, positive and influential relationships with international education and social agencies
  • Designing, managing and continuing to invent highly effective professional development opportunities (summer seminars, New and Aspiring Heads Institutes, targeted training sessions)
  • Managing and improving technology platforms and other creative solutions which are currently fundamental to the progress
  • Assisting the board and taking the lead role in business planning, budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Assisting the board and playing a central leadership role in creating a culture of professionalism
  • Designing and managing a contemporary, streamlined, cost-effective infrastructure
  • Developing models and sample to support the work of heads
  • Facilitating professional development sessions for Heads
  • Serving as an ambassador and other international education events
  • Building a strong positive network amongst members

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience as a Head of school, with solid understanding of international education and the role of the Head in international schools
  • Ability to lead or facilitate workshops or seminars for Heads or aspiring Heads
  • Ability to work with a committed Board of Directors and small staff to provide support and advocacy to the members
  • Ability to recruit and retain members
  • Strong understanding of a variety of technology platforms such as event registration software, databases, mass communication platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal & cross-cultural skills and ability to work with myriad groups and individuals to support international education
  • Excellent leadership skills with vision for the future and skills in developmental planning
  • Sound financial and budgeting experience and fiscal responsibility
  • Excellent work ethic, time management skills, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to run projects, work with planning and scheduling constraints, and deliver end-results within approved budget allocations
  • Ability and willingness to produce and present workshops, publish articles, and advocate as necessary to strengthen AISH’’s image in international education
  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally

PARTICULARS OF THE SEARCH
