Baantorfun Kindergarten was founded in 1997 by the nurse Mrs. Naricha Vijittassana, because she could not find a suitable kindergarten for her own two daughters.She startet to build the school around her own house and went back to university. She earned a masters degree in educational administration from Chulalongkorn University and her kindergarten was up and running in time for her daughters to study there. Early childhood is a period of amazing physical, cognitive, emotional and social development. We know today that it is the most important time in a humans life. Therefore, Mrs. Vijittassana decided to concentrate on early childhood education only. Baantorfun is a small school because plenty of research has shown that smaller is better when it comes to education. At Baantorfun the school becomes a second home and the teacher becomes a second mother. We want to teach our children well and we want to do that the right way. Teaching methods, curriculum, classrooms, and the whole schoolground is suitable specially for the early years. Children can discover and experiment in the garden and the playground. Improve their muscles in the playground, swimming pool and sand box. The kids use their immagination in the classroom specially when doing arts and craft. The academic development is secured by very good designed curriculum and good teachers. There is no anonymity unlike in big schools. Everybody knows everbody which is very good for the social development of our children. The school lunch menu is not only designed to taste good but much more to make our children grow strong and healthy. A wealth of vegetables is used with every other important ingredient but less fat to keep our kids from becoming overweigh. Fresh fruits are also served twice a week and milk drinking activities are held trice a day. The curriculum offers multiple activities to further the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development.
