About: INTERNATIONAL PIONEERS SCHOOL (IPS) was established in January 1998, initially as a kindergarten school, which subsequently expanded to become an international school accommodating students from ages 3 to 16+ (Kindergarten through Year 13) and leading to Cambridge IGCSE and further to AS/A Level examinations. Our Curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum and adapted to meet the needs of local and overseas students.

I have known several people who have worked with IPS and all stories were more or less the same. The administration makes their staff not only feel dispensable but holds them to admittedly unlawful policies knowing that many will not speak up because they need the job. Teachers are mostly Indian and Philippino, many of whom are ok with their pay, which tends to be half of what western teachers make. This is also why tuition costs are low. However, this penny pinching and frankly, abusive treatment of employees definitely affects the quality of education at the school. Teachers rarely receive professional development and from what I understand, the leadership has no formal education in school administration. They may know how to speak pretty to assure you of the quality education they will provide, but it is just that–talk. They know little to nothing about what students or teachers need nor how to effectively manage people. It is really no wonder that a student died on their watch the previous school year, unfortunate as this was. I would think twice and take a very close look at this school, beyond the facade it presents, before making any decisions.
