Our Philosophy

Temple Hill opened its doors in June of 2001, for the purpose of continuing in higher educational levels, the same high quality educational methodology and standards that The Philippine Montessori Center is known for. While both schools follow the Montessori method of education, they integrate the latest trends in different educational philosophies in order to develop a holistic and well-rounded approach that enriches the Montessori method and makes it more responsive to the needs and challenges of the 21st century.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The child is the builder of the man of the future, and through education, we do not just help one specific child, but contribute to the collective tomorrow of the human race.

Awakening minds and the desire to explore the world

From the beginning of time, the temple has always stood as the foundation of wisdom and learning. People would journey to its doors to ask the simplest and most profound questions: Who am I? Why am I here? What is this world that I live in? It is the place where answers are sought and minds are awakened. There, the human being discovers the height, breadth and depth of the universe, marveling at its beauty and interconnection. There, the seekers find a newborn desire to explore as well as realize their value as persons, their usefulness to the world and their ability to creatively contribute to it.

The school recognizes the need to go beyond the mere imparting of knowledge to children, but seeks to aid them in their development as complete human beings. It aims to beget individuals who the universe operates, but also a greater understanding of their lives, as they are interconnected with the lives of others.

Education as an “aid to life”

Montessori believes that education is an “aid to life” and not just a means by which individuals attain skills to earn a living. It believes that the aim of education is to awaken an understanding and yearning to live fully as a human being, through the realization that fullness of life comes from the dedication of the self to the service of what is real.

Temple Hill International School hopes to create an environment, through education of parents, teachers, and other interested individuals, that will nurture and support the children’s total development and budding plans and visions of contributing to the world. Thus, education takes on a much broader meaning – no longer is it just limited to providing “classroom learning” but it is also concerned with the greatest goal of bringing a new force of workers for humanity into the world.
