SCHOOL HEAD’S MESSAGE

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that we are all feeling recharged and rested after the two-week holiday. The teachers and I are l eager to hear all about your exciting activities during the Christmas break.

A new year brings new opportunities and challenges. There was so much that happened last year. Let us make 2014 a year of meaning and continuous joy.

I am proud to share some of our accomplishments last 2013:

¶ accreditation of Westfields International School as a Cambridge International School

¶ opening of grades 11 and 12 Cambridge Program

¶  construction of the roof in front of the grade school building that serves as our activity center

¶ participation of  high school students in international exchange programs:

  • ISA Student Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
  • Chinese Summer Bridge Program in Xiamen, China

¶ hosting of Korean exchange students from our sister city in Seo-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City

¶  passing of 10th grade students in the University of the Philippines (UPCAT) and Ateneo de Manila University (ACET)entrance examinations

¶ Passing of a 6th grade student in Philippine Science High School

We highly encourage all of you to continue joining us in our school activities and programs. We invite you to  attend all your scheduled Parent-Teacher-Conferences as it is our goal that our teachers meet you regularly to be our partner in helping your child reach his/her fullest potential. We cannot do this alone. We need every family to support us in this endeavor by making sure that you ask your child about his/her homework, school work, whatever they experience in school in order to help them use it in their everyday life. We believe that our students are at the heart of all we do. Our teachers are continuously meeting to collaborate and plan their instructional programs. They are constantly participating in staff development which enables them to refine their classroom management, instructional, and technological skills.

We are inviting you to join us in celebrating our School Week this coming February 10-14, 2014. In addition, make your children’s summertime meaningful and fun here in Westfields by attending our Summer Fun Camp this coming April 22 to May 22, 2014. Please check school website (www. westfields-is.com) or visit our Facebook account for updates and announcements.

Thank you for continuously believing in Westfields’  education. As our gesture of gratitude, we are again having a NO TUITION FEE INCREASE and an EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT for early enrollees and a 50% study grant to children enrolling in toddler for school year 2014-2015. Feel free to visit the Business Office for further details.
