The International School of Samui (ISS) is a young and vibrant school that takes pride in offering the very best in international education to the local and international children living on Koh Samui. The school has over 275students enrolled, follows the National Curriculum of England and Wales within an international context and caters for children from 2 to 18 years of age.
As of January 2015 we require an experienced and suitably qualified EFL teacher to become our Head of EAL and lead the development of an academic programme that meets the needs of our international pupils.
The Head of EAL will oversee the provision for students who are learning English and require extra support to sufficiently access the curriculum. It is the role of the Head of EAL to lead and support teachers to produce the best lessons that will ensure each student makes rapid progress with their English capability and their confidence in using the language for all aspects of school life. The Head of EAL will demonstrate a vision for outstanding provision for EAL for students of all ages, and the planning and leadership skills required to achieve that vision.
