Description of the School

A school is much more than simply a building. Whilst the bricks and mortar are recognised as the physical body of the school, it is the people within that structure that are its heart and soul.

Creating an ethos that is more concerned with educational values than profits, recruiting teaching staff that are utterly dedicated to that ethos and being blessed with children who are motivated and keen to learn, Saigon Star International School is a very special place.

Of course the bricks and mortar do matter, and we think even here, we have a huge advantage. Built away from the traffic and pollution of the city centre, yet close enough to be reached from anywhere in Ho Chi Minh in a matter of minutes, the school is surrounded by trees, open countryside and best of all, fresh air.

The two-storey building is custom designed and built to facilitate easy access with open, airy feel. The Reception has a deliberate,  open atmosphere to it and Principal, Ellen Thompson is always available to staff, children and parents at any time. It is her guiding hand that has created the small, almost ‘village school’ ambience here.

The classrooms are all about large windows and fresh air when not too hot, with an open plan feel.

The school grounds cannot be over stated, they are large, green and completely safe. The children are encouraged to play, both in formal and informal ways and they have a variety of spaces in which to exercise and role-play.

The school has two entrances, both manned at all times, by dedicated and experienced security staff. It also has its own fleet of buses to support door-to-door pick-up and drop-off.
