Formerly the Pedagogical College Pacific (from 1976 to 2009), University of Thu Dau Mot established under Decision No 900 / QD-TTg dated June 24, 2009 of the Prime Minister. Its mission is to train high-quality human resources to serve economic development, social Binh Duong province, the southeastern province, the southern key economic and country; scientific research, application and transfer of science and technology, providing products and services to market.
In 2015, the scientific staff of the school had 01 professors, 08 associate professors doctors, 56 doctoral, 454 master’s, 40 officers – are doing research faculty and foreign students. In parallel with the construction of the scientific staff of the organic, the school has enlisted the support of scientific staff with high qualifications in the fields of Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh City University National Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University, especially with the field school has strengths in the areas of social sciences and humanities.
May 8/2015, School of Education officially allowed 05 admissions Graduate training programs, marks a significant development of the university. Currently, the size of the school’s 18,000 students, the students are learning and research postgraduate in 5 branches, 22 university departments, six college sector in the fields of economics, engineering, natural sciences , social sciences and humanities teacher.
Through six years of development, has shaped the institution as a multidisciplinary and multi-sector oriented research. With the motto “Knowledge – Development – Prosperity”, the University of Thu Dau Mot has gradually asserted its position as a training base, scientific research of high quality, as representative for intellectual strength official youth Binh Duong province.

On the scale of training, 2020, University of Thu Dau Mot strive to build a system of 56 branch training college and graduate with a scale of 24,000 students, making training facilities on a par with the prestigious universities in the country, striving to reach higher education standards of the region and the world.
