Harrow International School Bangkok was founded in 1998 as the first Harrow International
School in Asia and is now mature and thriving, with 1,450 students on our green 14 hectare
site in North Bangkok, Thailand.

Responsibility
The postholder is responsible for overseeing the health and wellbeing of the boarding students
by providing high quality first aid provision and secondary care where appropriate, and to
assist the School Nurse in medical and administrative duties in the School Medical Unit. The
duties include the following:
Functional and Nursing Responsibilities
Administer nursing care for emergency and non-emergency cases for boarding students,
staff and their families.
Assist the Matron to transfer patients to hospitals for further and formalised treatment
when required.
Communicate with parents regarding the health status of their child/children.
Updating medical files of boarders on the school system to ensure universal information
is shared with the School Nurse.
Prepare medication and other treatments as instructed by boarders’ personal doctors or
parents.
Provide a clean, safe and therapeutic environment in the sick bay.
Responsible for stock keeping of medical supplies and equipment for surgery and
checking medicine expiry dates.
Update and advertise to relevant staff ‘high profile’ medical problems of specific
boarders.
To keep comprehensive note taking/report writing in relation toincidents/
accidents/medicine and/or treatment given to boarders in personal files to a high
standard, ensuring the accurate and rapid retrieval of information and reporting to
Director of Boarding.
Look after the daily life of the boarders with regard to nutrition, sleeping and general
welfare.
Provide health education and promote healthy living to the boarders.
Raising awareness of issue that can have a negative effect on student health (such as
smoking and drug abuse).
Prepare requisition for health and insurance matters when required.
Available to provide out of hours ‘over the phone’ advice and in extremely rare
circumstances provide 24 hour and cover time table when required.
In the event of a medical emergency at Harrow Bangkok, Nurses in the boarding
community are required to provide medical care as instructed by senior staff.
Co-ordinating the operations of the Medical Centre.
Housekeeping Responsibilities
Assist Matron by overseeing the supervision of maids for daily cleaning of boarding
house.
Assist Matron by overseeing the supervision of the laundry services.
Liaise with the Estates Department on required maintenance work.
Report required housekeeping supplies to Matron.
School Medical Unit Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day routine first aid medical care to students and staff.
Maintain a fully equipped Medical Unit and First Aid Stations across Campus and carry
out regular checks on equipment in these areas.
Assist the School Nurse to maintain full and up-to-date medical records on all students
and staff.
Liaise with Matron on all medical issues regarding Boarding House students.
Provide a clean, safe and therapeutic environment in the infirmary room.
Qualifications
Thai Nationality
Bachelor Degree in Nursing with valid license
At least two years professional experience as a qualified nurse field (preferably in an
international school)
Ability to work well as part of a team
A responsible attitude, having service mind and trustworthy
Good command of English, spoken and written (preferably IELTS score level 6 or
TOEIC score 600 or above)
ICT literate with a good knowledge of internet and Microsoft Office
Ability to remain calm in an emergency
Willingness to learn and excellent interpersonal skill
Aware of the unique demands of working in a school environment
