During this first stage of foundation and development, University of Information and Communication Technology has been continuously broadening itself in various ways: improving the quality of training, scientific research, technology transfer and international cooperation. So far, the University has 330 staff members, and teachers, 15% are PhD candidates; Master degree holders account for 40% and lecturers taking courses abroad account for 20%; and, approximately 7000 students are taking courses in 4 training majors (13 majors total) including Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunications, Automatic Control, and Economic Information Systems ranging from associate degrees to master degrees. As to facilities, the School has a comprehensive and modern equipment system. The University successfullyhosted several nationaland international conferences. Moreover, many scientific research projects have been adopted into practice. The University has established cooperative relations with many universities and organizations in England, France, Holland, Belgium, Thailand, and in the Philippines. The University always creates favorable conditions for its staff, lecturers and students in teaching, researching and studying. The University has been and will continue to be the best place for research, creative and cooperative efforts with respect to the future development of Viet Nam. The University achieved the aforementioned successes thanks to the support and interest given by the Vietnam Communist Party, the Government, the Ministries, Branches and Provinces all over the country. We respectfully appreciate the precious honor shown to us.
In the forthcoming time, the University has set for itself the goal of upgrading the University of Information and Communications Technology . It will be the center for training and research featuring qualified lecturers and actual demand-based training methods in order to satisfy the requirements for the future development of Vietnam in this new stage of revolution and international integration.
To attain the aforementioned goal, the management board, lecturers, staff and students of the University are determined to try their best to contribute to the sustainable development of Thai Nguyen University with the goal of training human resources in information and communications technology for the industrialization and modernization of the country. It is our hope that The University will continue receiving the support and cooperation of the Government, Ministries, Agencies, and Branches at all levels; the universities, economic-social organizations, scientists at home and abroad, and its former students and their families in the next developmental stage.
